SUMMARY:Arlington 45 Years Later: A High School Student's Photo Perspective
LOCATION:Barbara M. Donnellan Auditorium\, Arlington\, VA
DESCRIPTION:Amateur historian and lifelong Arlingtonian Eric Dobson will pr
esent photographs of Arlington he took from decades ago and discuss how th
ey reflect the time they were taken and inform what we see today\nIn 1981\
, a class at what was then Washington-Lee High School assigned students to
“create something.” Instead of a quilt or painting\, Eric Dobson chos
e to develop a photo essay on Arlington County. What did a 16-year-old con
sider important? How did he complete this assignment? How do his images of
neighborhoods and buildings appear today? This is not an ordinary set of
“then and now” photos. Com\n\nDetails and nearby events: https://novas
